Adopt-A-Kennel Program The Adopt-A-Kennel Program allows sponsors to adopt a kennel of their choice in the cat or dog room for a period of 3 months, 6 months, or 1 year. The kennel sponsorship helps our shelter buy and provide food for the animals that are housed in that kennel. The sponsorship card that is placed on the kennel can have a picture of one of your animals, and is a great way to do a memorial for a companion that has passed away. If you want anything specific written on the card, just add that information to the kennel sponsorship form.

Automatic Donation from your Bank Account

Please consider contacting your bank about having a regular donation electronically withdrawn from your account and sent to the shelter. All it takes is a little information from Karen Mullins, shelter manager, to get started. Call Karen at 457-2362 during shelter business hours for HSSI's bank name, routing number, and account number to give to your bank. Donations can also be made by clicking one of the "donate now" buttons on the website.

Bring a Bag Club The bring a bag club was started to help our shelter receive more of the supplies that we need. If you would like to help us out, you can bring a bag of cat food, dog food, or cat litter to our shelter or you can place it in our donation box, which is located at Kroger East in Carbondale, IL

Cash 4 Critters We accept used printer cartridges which are turned in for money. You can bring the cartridges to the shelter or send them in the mail to the following address: PO Box 291, Carbondale, IL 62903

Donate-A-Bed Program We have chosen Kuranda dog beds for our shelter because they are so good for our dogs. We still don't have enough for all of our kennels. If you would like to donate a bed so another dog can sleep in proper comfort, please

"Donate Now" through Network for Good If you would like to make a monetary donation to our facility but don't have time to stop by the shelter, or would just prefer to donate by credit card, you can donate through the network for good website. If you are also interested in purchasing a sponsorship packet or submitting an adoption fee with a credit card, you can use this site.

iGive.com When you shop on-line through iGive.com at certain retailers, a percentage of your purchase is donated to our facility. We rely on any donations that we receive.

PAWS to Recycle Program Our shelter accepts aluminum cans. We take the cans to a local recycling plant and put the money that we receive from them towards our low cost spay and neuter program. Cans can be brought to the shelter. We also need a volunteer to take these cans to the recycling plant for us.

Sponsor an Animal The Humane Society started the animal sponsorship program in January 2005 with the hopes that we would raise more funds to help us provide better care for the animals in our adoption program. All proceeds collected from the sponsorship will be used solely for the health and care of the sponsored animal.
