Thanksgiving Fundraiser at Kroger East A Success!! A group of 8 volunteers stood at both entrance doors at Krogers and handed out flyers requesting donations on behalf of the animals we care for. We had a table out front with baked goods, games, t-shirts/sweatshirts and helpful handouts. We were overwhelmed with people's kindness and generosity! We were able to raise $318.76 and 59 bags of dog/cat food, tons of bleach, soap, paper towels, disinfectant hand gel, cleaners, gloves, and laundry detergent. Some people donated $50 bills, $20 bills and some gave $2 and many kind words about their love of animals and appreciation of the work we do. One person came out and had bought every item on our Wish List! Sparky and Willy (both rescued animals) did their share in tugging at people's heart strings and helping them open their wallets when just a person may not have been as effective. These little guys were worn out at the end of the day, but happy to do their part!
