I adopted Sparky when he was just 8 weeks old in the summer of 1999. He was very small at 5 pounds and nice and quiet laying in a dog bed in his kennel. Boy was I a sucker. He now weighs in a 20 pounds and has an obsession with tennis balls. He and my cat chase each other up and down the stairs of my apartment playing tag at the oddest hours of the night. He has been the most stable thing in my life and has helped me to get though those really rough years just after college in the job hunt. I always knew that no matter what I could come home and his happy little tail would be wagging wanting for me to drop the tennis ball so he could put it in my lap again. Although I'm allergic to both my dog and my cat, I'd much rather put up with allergy shots and taking allergy medicine daily than to ever give up the love that they give me each day.
